How to Make a Seed Bead Necklace
We all love jewelry and there never seems to be enough necklaces in our collections. So, let’s make a seed bead necklace in a few easy steps! Gather all the materials so you have them on hand and let’s get started.
Step One: Beading
We’re going to start the whole thing off by stringing beads. We want them all ready to go, so get scalp needle and bring seed beads Close, let’s get started.
The goal is to create a V shape with the colors of the beads, so let’s make things clear.
We’re going to have 11 bead-filled headpins, and we’re going to fold all but one of the pins. So, we’ll have 5 pairs of beaded headpieces and one pair that’s separate.
All scalp pins have something in common. You will start with 1 light blue bead, followed by 1 white bead, 8 dark blue beads, and 1 white bead. After this, we will have some changes.
The amount of light blue beads we add after the white beads will increase. Two of the pins have 4 light blue beads, two of them have 6, two have 8, two have 10, two have 12 and the last one has 14 light blue beads.
In the end, your tiara will look like this.
Step 2: Roll the Header Pins
Next, we need to start winding the thread on the head pin.So, get Round nose pliers And picked up the needles one by one. Hold the prongs of the pliers a little above where the seed bead was, and turn the wire to form a loop. Before finishing the loop, cut off the excess wire.
Take the pliers and snip the excess wire from the header pin. Continue turning the wire until a loop is formed. Even if you don’t have a good estimate of the distance to the bead, you can keep turning the wire.
Do the same for all 11 header pins you added the seed beads to.
Step 3: Let’s Make the Necklace
Now that all the headpins have a ring, we can make the actual necklace. Get the eye pin, push the dark blue bead onto the wire, then add the head pin with the bead on it. You will add a dark blue bead after each beaded pin.
We opted to roll the loop at the end of the head pin as we go, but you can do everything at once if you want.
You want to create a nice pattern here, so you need to arrange the pins carefully. First, we added a pin with 4 light blue seed beads on top. Then, after adding the dark blue beads, we added a pin with 6 light blue beads and so on. Ultimately, depending on the number of light blue beads on top, we can follow a 4-6-8-10-12-14-12-10-8-6-4 pattern.
Don’t forget to add dark blue beads after each head pin.
By rolling the loop at the end of the header pin as close to the bead as possible, the design will look better and be cleaner at the end. Also, the length of the pins will be determined by the number of beads, not the length of wire you allow. This will make the design more symmetrical.
Step 4: Attach the Chain
Once you have lined up all the pins with beads, you want to start connecting chain. So grab the chain and push one of the links onto the eye pin as well.
Use pliers to snip off a bit of the eye needle thread, then take the round nose pliers.
Bend the wire and form a loop with the help of pliers. You only want to close the loop once you’ve pushed the link into that area.
Then, turn the necklace and use the round nose pliers to open the loop of the eye pin.
Push the link on the other end of the chain into the ring and close it again with the same round nose pliers.
you have it! Such a beautiful necklace, you can wear it on many occasions. It’s perfect for a night at the beach, at the office with a cute shirt or jeans.
Of course, you can customize it by changing the color of the beads. When creating your own patterns, just make sure to use beads of similar shades. Drop us a line and tell us what color you like and send us photos via social media.
